Traffic Services

The Truro Police Service Traffic Services was established on April 1st, 2006. The section is responsible for education and enforcement under the Motor Vehicle Act, serious motor vehicle accidents, and various issues regarding driving and pedestrian complaints within the town of Truro.

The traffic section works in conjunction with local traffic authority in maintaining a safe community for both motorists and pedestrians alike.

Traffic Services educates the community through the media and workshops with various topics from speed zones, crosswalk safety, and child seat belt safety just to mention a few.

Since it's inception on April 1st 2006, Traffic Services issued 1500 Summary Offense Tickets under the Motor Vehicle Act up until July 1st 2007.

It is the goal of the section to reduce the number of motor vehicle collisions by addressing the traffic safety concerns of the community.
